Well, we FINALLY got around to carving our Halloween pumpkins tonight. Alex had her first dance lesson after nursery. Everyone, even her Dad, was there to cheer her on. (ala Pretty Woman at the Polo match!) OK, not really. More like I was all teary eyed to see Alex ‘dancing’ ever so ‘swan-like’ (in Alex’s words) across the floor to Disney’s Jungle Book soundtrack. So sweet.

Back to the pumpkins. I had planned to USE the pumpkin innards to make a pie or bread or anything at all. But the inside of our pumpkins looked like a pumpkin spider web and the smell was totally rank. So that idea was blown right outta the water. However, thanks to Dad & Debbie, I am quite prepared for both Halloween AND Thanksgiving. They brought 6 cans of Libby’s canned pumpkin with them on their last visit. Whoo Hoo! God Bless America.

Alex drew the face I had to carve. Now, I thought that those things above the eyes were eyelashes or even eyebrows. I was a bit perplexed to discover that they are, in fact, FIRE. (???)

I took a more traditional approach with Jackson’s pumpkin. Mostly because he really couldn’t be bothered.

  1. They both look really great. We didn’t even have time to carve a pumpkin this year – I am such a bad Mommy! 🙂

  2. Hey Stephanie-
Thanks! It was a real smelly rush job. And by taking the pictures of the jack-O-lanterns lit, it’s impossible to appreciate the graffiti that Alex meticulously applied. I’ll have to remedy that. More pictures to come.

  3. this blog is awesome!
