Happy Mother’s Day

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all Mommies this side if the pond!

My day started with the children trying to wake me up bright and early at 6am. They were so excited! They must have thought they were getting presents or something. Graeme changed Betty’s poopie nappy and sent them back to bed. They were back in about 40 minutes later. I heard Alex saying,”But I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to Mommy!” How sweet is that? Anyway, everyone went downstairs to grab the chocolate and sign the card. And everyone trekked back up and piled on the bed. OH.MY.GOD. I love it when the whole family is all snuggly and cuddly together on a weekend morning. Alex duly handed me the chocolate while Jackson was already asking for his share. Betty realised what they were both asking for and chimed in with her,”Uhhh one!” So our day began with a chocolate breakfast. Lovely. And very satisfying.

We met with Gran and Grandad, Auntie Caz and Uncle Andy, Tom and Sean, Auntie Julie, Rayann and Hayley for lunch in the afternoon. We drove to Darlington and met at Hotel Bannatyne where we ate at Maxim’s Cafe. It was fantastic. Jackson managed to tip over the wine cooler, Alex collected and reissued everyone with silverware and Betty ate and sat quietly as the older cousins laughed at the antics.

After lunch we met at Wayside for chocolate cake and coffee. Gran took the children for a walk up the lane to see the new lambs. Jackson was afraid they would eat him but was happy to tell me he was wrong on return. We left in the early evening to come home and tackle the ironing for the coming week.

All in all it’s been a wonderful Mother’s Day. Gotta go, Jackson’s crying.
